ANÁLISE DA EVOLUÇÃO NORMATIVA NO CONTEXTO DA VIOLÊNCIA DOMÉSTICA CONTRA A MULHER NO BRASIL, O PAPEL DO SUS E DOS PROFISSIONAIS DE SAÚDE

Abstract

In Brazil, there is a growing concern about domestic violence and its effects. One of the forms of this type of crime is when it is against women. Such attention is reflected in the edition and improvement of federal laws in an attempt to create mechanisms to protect victims. This article analyzes the evolution of Brazilian legislation related to domestic violence against women, highlighting the fundamental role played by the Unified Health System (SUS) in identifying, preventing, and assisting victims. The research covers legal frameworks and their main functions in the protection chain, reaching the most recent developments, analyzing how the SUS articulates its public health policies with initiatives to combat violence. Based on a review of the bibliography and analysis of institutional data, the study reflects on the advances and challenges in the Brazilian context, proposing recommendations for a more effective integration between the health system and the justice system. The analysis of normative evolution shows Brazilian social development in recent decades. The constant updating presents improvements in prevention, in the judicial process, in health care and the correct epidemiology of the problem. On the other hand, it also exposes a problem that is far from being overcome, but which is moving towards a more humanized, safe and accompanied approach, with the SUS as one of the main instruments of reception and care.
